Preparing students and alumni to enter the workforce requires more than simply providing information about job vacancies. It requires opportunities to connect directly with industry, learn from the experiences of professionals, understand the needs of the workforce, and receive guidance in determining their career paths.
The Office of Student Career Development under the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni presented the Undip Grand Career Exhibition (UGCE #2) 2026, under the theme “Unlock Your Future Career: Connect with Industry, Learn from Experts, Succeed with Confidence.” The theme served as the foundation for creating a career development ecosystem that connects students and alumni with fellow alumni, experts, and industry representatives.
UGCE #2 2026 was held over two days, from June 24 to 25, 2026, at Ballrooms 1 and 2 of the Muladi Dome Building, Universitas Diponegoro. A total of 73 companies participated in the event, comprising 40 organizations from the banking sector, national private companies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), government institutions (BP3MI), certification bodies, and scholarship program providers, as well as 33 private companies operating under the Kendal Industrial Estate.
UGCE #2 2026 featured four main activities: Alumni Sharing Session, Job Fair and Walk-in Interview, Company Presentation, and Career Counseling Services. These four activities were designed to provide a comprehensive career experience, ranging from gaining inspiration and broadening perspectives to building connections with industry, accessing employment opportunities, and receiving career guidance.
Connect with Industry: Opening Access and Building Connections
The spirit of Connect with Industry was realized through the Job Fair and Walk-in Interview and Company Presentation. These activities provided students and alumni with opportunities to interact directly with companies and gain a closer understanding of the needs of the industry. Through the Job Fair and Walk-in Interview, participants could obtain information about employment opportunities while also taking part in the selection process directly. The participation of various companies also provided opportunities for participants to build professional networks and discover opportunities aligned with their competencies and career interests.
Meanwhile, through the Company Presentation, participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the companies, including their organizational profiles, business sectors, work culture, career opportunities, and the competencies required by the industry. These direct interactions are expected to help bridge the gap between education and workforce needs, while also creating more opportunities for young talents to enter the professional world.
Learn from Experts: Learning from Experience and Expertise
The message of Learn from Experts was realized through the Alumni Sharing Session. The session featured three inspiring alumni who shared their experiences and insights on their career journeys: Gandy Setiawan, S.E., M.P.P. (IESP ’91), Director of Program and Performance Monitoring, Secretariat of the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS), Ministry of Finance; Supriyanto, S.T., M.M. (Electrical Engineering ’92), Head of the Digital Division at PT Pegadaian; and Syanaz Nadya Winanto Putri, S.H., M.Sc. (Law ’95), Founder and Owner of Rorokenes Indonesia.
The various experiences shared, ranging from entering the workforce and facing professional challenges to adapting to the work environment and developing competencies, are expected to provide valuable lessons for students and alumni. Through the real-life experiences of the alumni, participants can gain a more realistic understanding of the professional world and recognize that a career journey is a process that requires preparation, continuous learning, and adaptability.
Succeed with Confidence: Preparing for a Career with Greater Confidence
Confidence in building a successful career is strengthened through Career Counseling Services. These services provide students and alumni with guidance in recognizing their potential, exploring career options, preparing application documents, preparing for job interviews, and developing career development strategies.
Career counseling services are an important part of the Undip Grand Career Exhibition, as success in entering the workforce is determined not only by the availability of opportunities, but also by an individual’s readiness to recognize their strengths and make informed career decisions.
Through this guidance, participants are expected to navigate the job search process in a more focused and confident manner.
The four components of UGCE #2 2026 were interconnected and complemented one another. The Alumni Sharing Session provided inspiration and insights from real-life experiences, the Company Presentation offered a closer look at the industry, the Job Fair and Walk-in Interview provided direct access to employment opportunities, while the Career Counseling Services helped participants determine their career strategies and direction. Together, these activities represented a concrete implementation of the theme, “Unlock Your Future Career: Connect with Industry, Learn from Experts, Succeed with Confidence.”
UGCE #2 2026 was not merely an event connecting job seekers with companies, but also a platform for unlocking potential, expanding connections, gaining valuable insights, and building confidence in shaping future career paths. Through this event, students and alumni are expected to be better prepared to navigate the dynamics of the workforce, gain a deeper understanding of industry needs, and take strategic steps toward building their careers.
